Town Hall 5

It’s important that you have different layers and that you don’t put all of your buildings within one circle of walls. Try to spread the Builder’s Huts in the corners because sometimes the time runs out before your attacker can reach all of them – preventing them from getting your last star. My favorite TH5 War Base with very strong Trap funnels

This Design uses a single Trap Funnel and the outside Buildings try to prevent that the Clan Castle Troops get pulled out easily

This Base has a Spring Trap Funnel and a strong long range Core Defense setup

Southern Teaser Trap Setup and a covered Clan Castle Pulling Range

Covered Clan Castle and inside Traps for a surprise

The single layer to the core makes this base look weaker than it is

This base distracts Giants with the outside Cannon to make them go to one point

Town Hall 6 War Base Layouts

I have taken the 3 best War Base Designs for Town Hall 6 I found – each of them with quite a unique concept (updated 09-02-2015):

This Town Hall 6 Layout has the Storages to keep Troops busy while they get focused by the splash damage Defenses

In this TH6 War Base the Storages are bulkheads against the first attackers with Trap Funnel and splash damage protection.

This TH6 War Base is called “run out of time” because normal attacks will only very unlikely be able to get all 3 Stars in time

Town Hall 7 War Base with Anti Air Features and Dark Elixir Drill

I have reworked these bases completely because mass Dragon attacks have become quite common in Clan War. If someone is not attacking these bases with Dragons he will also have a hard time with the labyrinth funnels (updated 09-02-2015):

Strong funneling in this TH7 War Base with the corners forcing the attacker to run big distances. The centralized Clan Castle is perfectly defending as well

Town Hall 7 War Base with strong Anti Air capabilities. The Dark Elixir Drill is in the north side corner. This is a Dragons nightmare. The cornered Storages and Dark Elixir teaser should distract some greedy attackers

Centralized Clan Castle and Barbarian King together with the core Air Defenses make this base to one of the strongest TH7 War Bases I know. The outside funnels work great against Giants and supportive Air Troops (also Healers) are almost useless

War Base Designs for Town Hall 8 with 4 Mortars Anti Hog Rider and Anti Dragon

With the Halloween Update the designs I had here have become very outdated because most of them aren’t able to fit in the 4 Mortars. I picked 4 new Designs for you that will be Anti Hog Rider, Anti Dragons and with the 4 Mortars up and running. The 2nd base design is a TH8 Teaser Base and you would be surprised how many fall for its Traps (updated 09-02-2015):

TH 8 War Base with strong Anti Air capabilities. The inside Air Defenses makes it almost impossible to get 3 Stars with mass Dragons. It’s also good against Hog Rider

TH8 Teaser Base with strong Funneling. If your attacker doesn’t exactly know what to do he will learn to hate Traps. Very successful layout in my Clan!

Strong Anti Hog Rider TH8 War Base Layout. Your attacker will need maxed Hog Rider and also good Healing Spell skills to destroy you

Town Hall 9 War Base with 4 Mortars (Anti Dragon War Base and Anti Hogs War Base Designs)

With Town Hall 9 you’ll face one big problem – you’re very vulnerable against Hog Rider and Dragons. You can shake them off easily by choosing the right design because the experienced player will keep their hands of your base if they spot your preparations and the Troops Spammer will not get 3 Stars. The major think you have to do is having your Archer Queen in the inside Core because she will take out Hog Rider by Hog Rider and they will simply fail and to keep Dragons away have the Air Defenses in your Core as well. Here are some designs I updated lately (10-02-2015):

This TH9 War Base features great Anti Hog capabilities with the core Archer Queen and the double Giant Bomb packs that will kill a big pack of them (not healable by the Healing Spell)

This Town Hall 9 War Base is a solid allrounder. Giants and Golems will get sucked into the funnel, Hog Rider will probably not survive the Tesla+Giant Bomb setup and mass Dragon attacks will go round for quite a while and the Air Defenses will take them down

The absolute nightmare of a Town Hall 9 War Base to attack. The Core is almost unbreakable for Golem attacks (the Wallbreaker can’t break through because of the double layer) and Hog Rider are just dead and get maybe 1 Star if the attacker knows what to do and has a good Clan Castle with him. My favorite here.

 Anti GoWiPe GoWiWi and LavaLoonian Town Hall 10 War Base

At Town Hall the strategy is getting a little modified. In this range we want to provide our Clan Castle Troops getting pulled at any costs. The cornered Storages will not work here any more because you have so many buildings you fill out most of the map anyway. If you recently upgraded to Town Hall 10 and don’t have the Inferno Tower you should better use one of the Town Hall 9 War Bases above. The bases I feature here are mostly against GoWiWi & GoWiPe and LavaLoonian. I use this Layout for quite a while now and I never lost 3 Stars with it so far.

This TH10 War Base is great because the Town Hall offset makes the Clan Castle Troops almost impossible to lure without investing some serious Troops. Here’s how the attacks so far went:
